SIDNEY B. MICHAEL
Personal Life:
Sidney (Sid) was born on July 3, 1947. Sid has a son Jon, three older brothers Jerry, Charles, David and a sister, Barb. Since returning from his tour of duty, Sid has been very involved in the community. He has held numerous leadership positions. In addition to his volunteer efforts, Sid has been actively engaged since 1971 in the selling of personal property at auction in 9 states and over 2500 auctions. Sid has done personal property appraisal since 1971 which included business, commercial, antiques, collectibles, household, machinery, and estate property. Sid has been actively listing or selling real estate since 1971 and a real estate appraiser for 30 years.
Military Life:
After High school, Sid enlisted in the United States Air Force. He said he enlisted because his 3 older brothers and many neighbors had served and he felt it was “my duty to my country.” While serving in the USAF, Sid achieved the rank of E4. Sid said his favorite memory was “The day I volunteered to demonstrate the Fulton Recovery Device, while stationed in South East Asia. It is used to extract downed crew members from enemy territory.” Sid has two patches and a training movie of this device. He gave one of the patches to the USAF museum. Sid spent 3 years demonstrating the Futon Recovery Device for the crew member of Takhl, Thailand.
