WILLIAM ZELORA TODD
Personal Life:
William was born October 13,1920 in Allen Michigan. He graduated from Allen High School in 1938. Before Allen went to serve his country, he married Leila. William and Leila raised two children, William and Pamela. After the war, William returned to Allen where he worked a short time in a factory. He then spent some time as the Post Master of Allen before he moved to become a rural carrier from which he retired.
William spent some time on the ball field playing fast pitch softball for various local teams.
William passed on April 10, 2004 in Coldwater Michigan.
Military Life:
William was drafted in the United States Army and served his country during WWII, 1943-1946. William achieved the rank of Private First Class. One particular family memory most remembered is and I heard it on several occasions, is that we had the best damned riflemen in the army. Dad was a machine gunner and would say I just provided cover fire for the riflemen.
